Northern Superchargers beat Oval Invincibles by 19 runs in Match No. 12 of The Hundred Men's Competition 2024 on Friday (August 2) at the Kennington Oval in London. Prior to the game, the Invincibles were placed on top of the points table but after the defeat, they dropped down to second with four points and a net run rate of +0.554, thanks to two wins in three matches.

The Superchargers, who were languishing at the bottom of the table, have moved to fourth place with four points and a net run rate of -0.073, courtesy of wins in two out of three games. Trent Rockets moved to the top with four points and a net run rate of +0.700. Manchester Originals are at the bottom, having lost all three of their matches.


Nicholas Pooran stars in Northern Superchargers’ big win at The Hundred Men's 2024

After being asked to bat first, the Superchargers put up a competitive score of 145 for the loss of five wickets. Nicholas Pooran was their star performer after he racked up 65 runs off 41 balls with the help of four fours and as many sixes. He came to bat after Graham Clark departed for a duck and from there on, he did not look back.

Oliver Robinson injected momentum into the innings with a vital 10-ball knock of 20. Sam Curran was the pick of the bowlers for the Invincibles with figures of 15-8-20-2. Spencer Johnson, Saqib Mahmood, and Adam Zampa accounted for a scalp apiece.

The Invincibles could only manage 126 for the loss of nine wickets. Donovan Ferreira tried his heart out with a knock of 49 off 24 balls, laced with two fours and five sixes. However, he did not get much support from the other end. Jordan Clark, Matthew Potts, and Adil Rashid accounted for two scalps each. Matthew Short and Mitchell Santner picked up one wicket each.
