Defending champions Oval Invincibles walloped London Spirit by nine wickets in the first match of the day, while Northern Superchargers consigned struggling Manchester Originals to a seven-wicket defeat with three balls to spare.

By defeating London Spirit, Oval Invincibles strengthened their claim at the top of The Hundred Men’s 2024 points table with six wins from seven matches. Southern Brave takes the second spot on the eight-team standings for registering five wins amidst two defeats from seven games.

Northern Superchargers gained a rung to climb to number three as they switched places with Birmingham Phoenix after outclassing Manchester Originals. Trent Rockets have accumulated six points so far courtesy of three wins from six outings to be ranked fifth on the table.

Welsh Fire takes the sixth spot for amounting to just five points with two wins and a no-result. Manchester Originals jumped up to number seven while London Spirit slipped to the bottom of the points table by holding a dismal NRR of -0.884.

At Old Trafford in Manchester, hosts Manchester Originals smacked 152/7 from 100 balls courtesy of a 61-run blinder from captain and opening batter Phil Salt. For the Northern Superchargers, New Zealand-based spinner Mitchell Santner claimed three key wickets, including that of dangermen Max Holden and Sikandar Raza to bag figures of 3/24.
