Kennington Oval played host to the 12th game of The Hundred Men's Competition 2024 between Oval Invincibles and Northern Superchargers. Invincibles skipper Sam Billings won the toss and elected to field first in the hope that the deck has something to offer to the bowlers upfront.

Opener Matthew Short (20 off 13) gave the Superchargers a decent start but it was Nicholas Pooran’s 41-ball 65* that made the difference. Batting at a strike rate of 158.53, Pooran scored four boundaries and four maximums as he played at No. 3 with expertise. A blistering 20 off 10 deliveries down the order from Ollie Robinson helped the Superchargers post a first-inning total of 145/5 in the first 100 deliveries of the game.

Sam Curran scalped two wickets for the Superchargers, while his teammates Spencer Johnson, Saqib Mahmood, and Adam Zampa took one wicket apiece.

Chasing 146 in 100 balls, the Oval Invincibles batting lineup never got going as no batter in the top five made any significant contributions. Donovan Ferreira (49 off 24) played a brilliant hand to keep his side afloat in this contest before he was dismissed.

In the end, the Invincibles could only manage to put up a score of 126/9, handing the Superchargers a 19-run win in the 12th match of the tournament. Jordan Clark (2/26), Adil Rashid (2/28), and Matthew Potts (2/180) were the top wicket-takers for the Northern Superchargers.
