Headingley, Leeds, played host to the 29th match of the 2024 Men’s Hundred between the Northern Superchargers and London Spirit on Tuesday, August 13.

The London-based franchise were put into bat first by the Superchargers as Keaton Jennings (30 off 12) gave them a blazing start as wickets kept falling on the other end. Barring Jennings, a couple of other London Spirit batters, namely Ravi Bopara (31 off 29) and Liam Dawson (27* off 19), made some useful contributions as the London Spirit ended the first innings with a score of 111/8.

A comprehensive cricketing display from the Superchargers bowlers Adil Rashid (3/16), Matthew Potts (2/18), and Reece Topley (2/25) helped their side restrict the Spirit for a below-par first innings total.

Chasing 112, openers Matthew Short (25* off 19) and Graham Clark (26 off 13) gave the Superchargers a decent start at the start of the second inning. However, Rain played spoilsport when the scorecard read 64/1 in 44 deliveries.

As heavy downpour continued, the game was eventually decided by the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method, with the Superchargers winning the 29th game of the campaign by 21 runs.
