Welsh Fire beat London Spirit in the first match of Thursday, August 1, in the Hundred Men at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. After being asked to bat first, the Fire scored 94 for the loss of nine wickets. The Spirit chased down the target with 13 balls to spare. Liam Dawson won the Player of the Match award for his figures of 20-13-10-3.

Southern Brave, in the second match of the day, beat Manchester Originals by seven wickets in Match No.11 at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. After being asked to chase down 117, the Brave romped home off 78 balls. Craig Overton won the Player of the Match award for picking up three wickets.

Adam Zampa of the Oval Invincibles remains the leading wicket-taker of the championship. The leg-spin bowler has taken six wickets at an economy rate of 5.25 with a three-wicket haul to show for his efforts. Craig Overton, Liam Dawson, David Willey, Tim Southee and Chris Jordan have five wickets apiece to their name.

Jake Ball has looked decent, having also taken a three-wicket haul. Rashid Khan, Tom Hartley, Imad Wasim and Sean Abbott have also been impressive with the ball.
