On Saturday, August 17, two encounters took place at the Shpageeza Cricket League 2024. Amo Sharks and Speen Ghar Tigers clashed in the first game, while Boost Defenders locked horns against Mis Ainak Knights.

The Tigers defeated the Sharks by five wickets, as they chased down the target of 106 runs in 10.4 overs. The Knights won the 10th match against the Defenders by eight wickets after chasing down the target of 168 runs in 18.3 overs.

The Knights are still in first place with wins in all four matches with a Net run rate (NRR) of +1.173. Dragons are still in the second position and have won and lost two matches each, while possessing an NRR of +0.126.

The Defenders are still ranked in third place with wins in two out of four games and have an NRR of -0.476. Speen Ghar Tigers moved to fourth position from fifth with a victory in four appearances and NRR of -0.227. Meanwhile, the Sharks moved to fifth place from fourth and have registered one win in four outings with an NRR of -0.703.


Bilal Sami's bowling heroics lead Speen Ghar Tigers to five-wicket win

Speen Ghar Tigers won the toss against Amo Sharks and elected to bowl. Mohammad Ishaq (36 off 25) was the only batter who could impress, as the Sharks were bundled out for 105 runs in 18.3 overs. Bilal Sami was the pick of the bowlers and took three wickets for eight runs in 3.3 overs.

The trio of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Hassan Eisakhil, and Ikram Alikhil garnered a total of 82 runs and made the target a piece of cake. The Tigers reached the target of 106 runs in just 10.4 overs and won by five wickets. Bilal won the Player of the Match award for his bowling performance.

Boost Defenders elected to bat after winning the toss in the second match of the day against Mis Ainak Knights. Darwish Rasooli was the highest scorer for the Defenders and made 67 runs off just 30 deliveries. His innings helped the team post a total of 167 runs. Abdul Rahman was the most successful bowler for the Knights and picked three wickets for 26 runs in 3.5 overs.

Naveed Obaid and Wafiullah Tarakhil scored a half-century each. Obaid made 52 runs off 32 deliveries, while Wafiullah remained unbeaten on 65 runs off 39 deliveries. In the end, the Knights won the match by eight wickets in 18.3 overs.
