The Kabul International Cricket Stadium in Afghanistan hosted two Shpageeza Cricket League 2024 matches on Monday, August 19. In the first match of the day, Amo Sharks defeated Mis Ainak Knights by 25 runs after charting 190/5 upfront. Opening batter Zubaid Akbari and number four Shahidullah top-scored with swift 49 runs each while Sharafuddin Ashraf launched a six and a four in his five-ball cameo at the death.

Later in the run-chase, captain Ibrahim Zadran led Knights’ run-chase with a counterattacking 52. However, tumbling wickets at the other end to Amo Sharks bowlers Azmatullah Omarzai (3/41) and Fazalhaq Farooqi (1/21) restricted Knights to just 165/8 from 20 overs.

Between Speen Ghar Tigers and Boost Defenders, the former made 192/6 after winning the toss and opting to bat first. Opener Hassan Eisakhil cracked 63 runs from 42 balls to top-score in the innings and shared a 60-run stand with partner Numan Shah (17-ball 36). Samiullah Shinwari slogged his way to an unbeaten 49 from 28 balls to counter Naseer Khan Maroofkhil’s four-over spell of 2/51.

In response, Boost Defenders batters came out all guns blazing and mowed down their target with seven balls to spare. Mohammad Akram blasted 40 from 18 balls while captain Rahmat Shah chipped in with 48 off 28. Unbeaten Darwish Rasooli (35* off 22) and Abdul Hadi (24* off 9) also smacked a few during their unbroken 38-run match-winning partnership.
