On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Trident Stallions faced JK Super Strikers in the fifth Sher-e-Punjab T20 2024 match and Agri’s King’s Knights locked horns with the Royal Phantoms in the next game. With a net run rate of 2.298, BLV Blasters continue to dominate the Sher-e-Punjab T20 2024 points table. Agri’s King’s Knights hold onto second place after securing their second consecutive win against the Royal Phantoms.

Intersoft Titans remain in third place with one win from two matches. Meanwhile, Trident Stallions climbed back to fourth position following a six-wicket win over JK Super Strikers.

Both the Strikers and the Phantoms are yet to secure a victory and occupy the bottom two spots, each with two losses.

Knights secure back-to-back wins; Stallions bounce back with first victory

The Trident Stallions grabbed their maiden victory over JK Super Strikers in the first game of Day 3. Opting to bowl first, they limited the Super Strikers to 153/9. Karthik Sharma (51), Shabaz Sandhu (44), and Gaurav Markan (24) were among the top scorers while the rest were bowled out in single digits except Satyam Sharma (11).

Gurnoor Brar led the Stallions’ attack with a four-for while Sahil Sharma and Ramandeep Singh chipped in with two wickets each.

In reply, Vihaan Malhotra’s 48 (40) and Sahil Aroras’s 46* (31) guided them to a six-wicket win with four balls to spare. Sahil Khan took two wickets for the Strikers while Mayank Markande and Prerit Dutta claimed one apiece.

In the second game, the Royal Phantoms elected to bat against Agri’s King’s Knights and racked up 185 runs on the board for the loss of six wickets. Phantoms skipper Anmolpreet Singh scored a half-century off 43 balls, featuring seven fours. Sohraab Dhaliwal backed him with a stunning 12-ball 48-run knock, comprising eight boundaries while Ridham Satyawan scored 33 off 25.

Ayush Goyal picked up a three-wicket haul for the Knights while skipper Abhishek Sharma, Ashwani Kumar and Sumit Sharm secured one each.

Despite losing three wickets in the powerplay, the Knights scored 66 runs. Sumit Sharma and Sahaj Dhawan each scored 38 runs. Mandeep Singh (34) and Rahul Kumar (34*) added 68 runs in the middle-order and helped their side win the game in 19.3 overs. Sukhdeep Bajwa took three wickets for the Royal Phantoms.
