BLV Blasters and JK Super Strikers met in the 13th Sher-e-Punjab T20 2024 match on Sunday, June 16. Agri King’s Knights faced Intersoft Titans in the next game of the day.

Trident Stallions and BLV Blasters are placed in the top two positions in the table with six points each. Stallions have played four games while the Blasters lost their fifth game against the Strikers.

JK Super Strikers occupy the third position, winning three out of five games. Similarly, Agri King’s Knights secured a narrow one-run win over Intersoft Titans and retained the fourth spot.

Royal Phantoms and Intersoft Titans languish in the bottom two spots on the leaderboard with just one win in four and five matches, respectively.


Blasters suffer second loss; Knights bounce back with third victory

BLV Blasters won the toss and opted to bowl first. JK Super Strikers hammered Blasters and posted a target of 188 runs for the loss of five wickets. Shivein Rakheja top-scored 45 while Gaurav Markan added 39 runs off 19.

Shahbaz Singh Sandhu (28), Kartik Sharma (26), and Aryan Yadav (25) also made important contributions in the middle-order. Punjab Kings star Harpreet Brar took three wickets for the Blasters while Aryan Mehra picked up two.

In reply, the Blasters got off to a great start with Harnoor Singh’s 73 (48) and Anmol Malhotra’s 55 (40). However, the remaining batters were dismissed in single digits. Harshdeep Singh spearheaded the Strikers’ bowling assault with a five-fer while skipper Sanvir Singh also contributed by taking two wickets.

In the second game, Agri’s King’s Knights batted first and set a challenging target of 177 runs for eight wickets. They lost two wickets inside powerplay but Yuvi Goel and Mandeep Singh forged a 52-run partnership for the third wicket and Madhav Pathania scored a 20-ball 31-run knock.

However, the rest of the batters were sent back to the pavilion below 10 runs. Siddarth Kaul led the charge with a five-wicket haul and the other three supported him with a wicket each.

In reply, Intersoft Titans struggled hard and put up a strong fight but fell short by one run. Pukhraj Mann (62), Gitansh Khera (41), and Anil Yadav (36) were among the major run-getters for the Titans.

Abhishek Sharma and Ashwani Kumar secured two wickets while Ayush Goyal and Madhav Pathania took one apiece.
