BLV Blasters and Trident Stallions locked horns in the seventh match of the Sher-e-Punjab 2024 on Thursday, June 13, at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium. In the second game, JK Super Strikers and Agri Kings Knights squared off against each other.

Stallions beat the Blasters by 34 runs in the high-scoring encounter. Meanwhile, in the second game, Super Strikers emerged victorious, defeating the Knights by eight wickets.

Despite the loss, BLV Blasters are still leading the points table with four points, having won two games and losing one. They now boast a net run rate of +0.958. Trident Stallions, on the other hand, are trailing behind Blasters, with a net run rate of +0.554.

The table is followed by Agri Kings Knights with four points and a net run rate (NRR) of -0.425. The fourth spot is taken by JK Super Strikers after their loss against the Knights and hold an NRR of +0.257. The last two positions are filled by Intersoft Titans and Royal Phantoms with an NRR of +0.036 and -2.124 respectively.


Salil Arora stars in Trident Stallions vs BLV Blasters clash

The Stallions won the toss and opted to bat first. Salil Arora (56* off 30) and Ramandeep Singh (54 off 29) scored half-centuries as the Stallions posted a mammoth 200 in allotted overs. Baljet Singh's three-wicket haul then helped Stallions to restrict Blasters for 166 runs. Jasinder Singh, Aryabhan Singh, and Shubham Rana also contributed significantly, picking up two wickets each. Meanwhile, for Blasters, captain Naman Dhir top-scored with 58 off 33 deliveries.

Speaking of the second encounter, Agri Kings Knights skipper, Abhishek Sharma, won the toss and opted to bat first. The batters failed in front of JK Super Strikers' bowlers from the start of the innings. However, Madhav Pathania provided a sigh of relief for his side, scoring 63 off 47 deliveries, and batting down the order. His knock helped the Knights post a total of 135 runs. Sahil Khan emerged as the standout bowler for the Strikers, claiming three wickets while Captain Sanvir Singh and Vashish Mehra picked two each.

In response, Strikers' opener Karthik Sharma unleashed a powerful batting display, scoring an unbeaten 97 helping his side chase down the target with 23 balls to spare. His knock was studded with nine boundaries and six maximums. In addition, his phenomenal performance helped him earn the Player of the Match award.
