Hampshire emerged victorious against Lancashire in the 34th match of the 2024 Royal London One Day Cup on Sunday, August 4.
Middlesex successfully chased down their required target with five wickets to spare against Kent in the 35th game of the season, while Northamptonshire registered a thumping 130-run win over Worcestershire in the 36th fixture of this campaign and the third game of the day.
Derbyshire, Glamorgan, Warwickshire, and Nottinghamshire defeated Somerset, Essex, Gloucestershire, and Surrey in the 37th, 38th, 39th, and 40th games of the tournament, respectively.
County Ground, Hove, saw Leicestershire beat Sussex in a high-scoring close encounter in the 41st match of the tournament.
Derbyshire, having won four out of their five games this season, occupy the top spot in Group A with eight points and a net run rate of +0.813. Worcestershire, Somerset, and Hampshire have all scored six points after the completion of 41 matches this campaign. They occupy the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.

Leicestershire post 363 to trump Sussex in game 41
Leicestershire were put into bat by Sussex in the seventh fixture of the day at the County Ground, Hove. Leicestershire openers Ian Holland (65 off 67) and Sol Budinger (84 off 77) gave their team a phenomenal start, scoring at a strike rate of 97.01 and 109.09, respectively, and sharing a total of 14 boundaries and seven sixes between them.
Ajinkya Rahane (68 off 57) and Peter Handscomb (119 off 80) took over from where the openers left, giving their side massive propulsion in the first innings. In the end, Leicestershire managed to put together 363/7 in the first innings, with Peter Handscomb scoring his runs at a strike rate of 148.75, hitting 15 boundaries and two sixes in his 119-run innings.
Sussex’s batting duo of the two Toms, Tom Clark (72 off 74) and Tom Haines (129 off 110), gave their team a fantastic start as they chased a 364-run target.
Skipper John Simpson (85 off 51) too played his part in the Sussex batting lineup, but they fell short of the required target by 10 runs, handing Leicestershire an all-important win in the 41st encounter.
