The Royal London One Day Cup 2024 resumed on Friday, August 2, after a two-day hiatus with six matches across England. Durham (261/6) defeated Northamptonshire (260 all out) at Chester-le-Street in the first Group A match of the day by four wickets. Colin Ackermann headlined Durham’s run-chase with a 108-run knock from 106 balls.
In Derby, Worcestershire thumped Derbyshire by eight wickets in a chase of 261. Jack Home picked up six wickets with the ball before Worcestershire opener Gareth Roderick hammered 152 unbeaten runs.
Somerset also bagged two Group A points on offer by pummelling Lancashire by eight wickets in Taunton. After Kasey Aldridge restricted Lancashire with figures of 6/33, opening batter George Thomas made 106* to steer his team to an easy victory.
In Group B, Glamorgan overcame Sussex by one wicket in the penultimate over. After Timm van der Gugten (3/23) and Dan Douthwaite (4/44) enveloped Sussex for 200, Eddie Byrom (51 off 46 balls) and Billy Root (48 off 74 balls) catalyzed Glamorgan’s thrilling win at Neath.
At Rugby, Warwickshire secured a three-run win in a high-scoring thriller against Surrey, courtesy of some tight bowling from Michael Booth (3/54).
Between Gloucestershire (251/9) and Yorkshire (215 all out) at York, the former prevailed with a 36-run margin. Oliver Price unfurled the innings of the match through his 98-run knock while Matt Taylor (3/35) and Ajeet Singh Dale (2/39) hogged the limelight with the ball for Gloucestershire.

Gareth Roderick (269 runs) catapulted himself to the top of the run-scoring charts of the Royal London One Day Cup 2024 by hammering 152* against Derbyshire. Haseeb Hameed and Prithvi Shaw take the subsequent two slots on the top 10 batting list with 222 runs each.
Harry Came (216 runs), Sol Budinger (213 runs), Eddie Byrom (207 runs), and Andrew Umeed (203 runs) are the only other batters to have tallied over 200 runs so far this season.
Ed Barnard is ranked eighth on the list with 195 runs to his name. Ed Pollock and Will Rhodes occupy the final two positions on the top-10 batting charts with 193 runs each.
