Warwickshire took on Worcestershire in the quarter-final 1 and elected to bowl first after winning the toss. Jake Libby’s century helped Worcestershire post a total of 286 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Ed Pollock also had a decent outing with the bat and made a half-century. Michael Rae was the pick of the bowlers, picking up three wickets for Warwickshire.
In response, Warwickshire lost their five wickets for just 77 runs. The partnership of 181 runs for the sixth wicket between Will Rhodes and Kai Smith helped Warwickshire cross the line in 49 overs with four wickets in hand. Rhodes scored 75 runs off 107 deliveries, while Smith remained unbeaten on 130 runs off 104 deliveries.
In the second quarter-final, Leicestershire won the toss and elected to bowl against Hampshire. Opener Nick Gubbins scored 136 runs off 139 deliveries and Liam Dawson made 50 runs off 51 deliveries. Peter Handscomb and Ajinkya Rahane added 128 runs for the fourth wicket after Leicestershire lost three early wickets. Ben Cox and Liam Trevaskis stitched together a match-defining partnership after Handscomb and Rahane were dismissed. The collective efforts of all the batters helped Leicestershire chase down the target of 291 runs in 49.5 overs with three wickets in hand.
