Kent emerged victorious by three wickets in the 52nd game of the 2024 Royal London One Day Cup against Derbyshire at the County Ground, Derby.

Skipper Jack Leaning (81* off 117) and Matt Parkinson (3/23) were the top performers for Kent.

Batting first, Durham posted a first-inning score of 257 against Hampshire in the 53rd game of the campaign. Durham batter Colin Ackermann (96 off 98) fell short of his century by four runs in the first inning, while the likes of Dominic Kelly (3/48) and Eddie Jack (2/59) were good with the ball for Hampshire.

Bowling contributions from Paul Coughlin (3/41), Bas de Leede (2/19), and George Drissell (2/21) helped Durham bowl Hampshire for a mere 113 in just 16.1 overs. This handed Durham an emphatic 144-run win.

Somerset and Gloucestershire fought fiercely to eke out wins over Worcestershire and Nottinghamshire in the 54th and 55th matches of the competition.

Lewis Goldsworthy (95 off 108) top scored for Somerset in their successful 264 run chase, handing Worcestershire a five wicket loss, while Miles Hammond scored a scintillating 113-ball 157 to help Gloucestershire chase down a target of 333 with seven wickets to spare.

Surrey posted a competitive score of 306/4 against Essex in the first inning of the 56th game of the tournament at the County Ground, Chelmsford. Josh Blake scored a century with a strike rate of 100, while Ryan Patel (83 off 106) and OFM Sykes (87 off 56) made momentous contributions for Surrey.

A target of 307 runs proved to be a bit overwhelming. Essex could only manage to score 217 as Surrey bowling sensation Cameron Steel (4/50) wreaked havoc upon the Essex batting lineup. Surrey registered a healthy 89-run win in the fifth and final match of the day.
