On Monday, July 8, 2024, Bulls XI and Tuskers XI squared off in the seventh Pondicherry T20 League 2024 match while Lions XI and Lions XI locked horns in the next. Tuskers bagged their third consecutive victory against the Bulls to strengthen their top spot with a net run rate of +1.818.

Similarly, the Tigers secured their second straight win over the Lions to jump from fourth to second position with an NRR of +1.222.

Bulls slipped from second to third, having won two out of their three games so far. However, they boast a negative NRR of -0.310.

Panthers XI also dropped from third to fourth with one win and one loss while Lions continue to languish at the foot of the table with three losses in a row.

Tuskers maintain three-match winning streak while Lions suffer in three back-to-back games

Tuskers batted first and set an imposing target of 203 runs thanks to Akash Pugazhendi’s 58-ball 94-run knock, featuring 11 boundaries, and Parameeshwaran S's 42 off 28 with five boundaries. Rajakavi Rajagopal, the Bulls captain, and Ravi Yadav secured two wickets each while Sabhay Chadha picked up one.

In reply, Tuskers restricted Bulls to 143/9. Sunil Bishnoi was the top scorer for the Bulls with 49 off 40, including two fours and four sixes, followed by Sambhav Parakh (25), Ragavan Ramamoorthy (21), and Kamaleeswaran A (15). The rest of the lineup scored in single digits, resulting in a 59-run loss.

Parameeswaran led the bowling attack with a three-wicket haul while Mohammed Shafeequddin, Vinay Murugesh, and Rahul R chipped in with two wickets each.

In the following game, the Tigers bowled out the Lions to 103 in the first half. Mohit Kale, the Tigers’ captain, top-scored 36 runs from 30 deliveries while Sreeraj R was the pick of the Tigers bowlers, taking four wickets while Aditya More took two.

In reply, despite losing eight wickets, the Tigers chased down the target in 12.5 overs courtesy of S Sudhaakar’s 55 off 31 and Nadeem Khan’s quick cameo 19 off eight. S Pranesh of Lions secured three wickets for his side.
