Harshit Rana received his maiden Indian ODI squad call-up for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. The fast-bowling all-rounder expressed his gratitude to his father Pradeep after being selected in the ODI team.
Rana came into the limelight after his phenomenal performances for India A and Kolkata Knight Riders. The BCCI picked him in the squad for the recent T20I series against Zimbabwe, and, now, he has made it to the ODI team as well.
In case you didn't know, Harshit's father Pradeep would motivate him when the all-rounder would be disappointed after not being selected in age-group level teams. Now that Harshit has made it to the Indian ODI team, the first thing he did was post a picture with his father on Instagram.

In the photo, the all-rounder can be seen lifting his father in the air. His father donned the Indian jersey of his son with a big smile on his face. Over 400 fans left a comment under the post shared by Harshit.
What is Harshit Rana's record in List-A cricket?
Many fans would have noticed Rana's brilliant bowling performances in the IPL, but the selectors have picked him in the ODI squad as well. Notably, Rana has played 14 List-A matches, scalping 22 wickets at an economy rate of 5.54.
The pacer is yet to take a five-wicket haul in the 50-over format but has a couple of four-wicket hauls, with his best figures being 4-17. Rana has also received an opportunity to seven times in List-A matches, where he has managed 68 runs, hitting three fours and five sixes.
Harshit Rana could be a valuable addition to the Indian ODI squad as a bowling all-rounder. It will be interesting to see if he makes his debut against Sri Lanka in the upcoming tour.
