Nitish Kumar Reddy starred with the bat for India against Bangladesh in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday, October 9. The right-handed batter smashed 74 runs off 34 balls at a strike rate of 217.65, comprising seven sixes and four boundaries. This was only his second innings for the Men in Blue after scoring an unbeaten 16 off 15 balls in the seven-wicket win over Bangladesh on his debut in the first T20I.

Reddy made it to the national side after a breakthrough season for SuniRisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Visakhapatnam-batter scored 303 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 142.92, including two half-centuries. The medium pacer also bagged three wickets.

Fans on X lauded Nitish Kumar Reddy for his maiden half-century in only his second game for India. One user wrote:
