Bangladesh middle-order batter Towhid Hridoy feels that a low-scoring match is on the cards as they are set to play the T20I series opener against India at New Madavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on Sunday, October 6. The reaction comes as the venue is set to host its first-ever international match. The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has sent a team from Indore to ensure the smooth conduct of the game.

Towhid Hridoy told PTI (via The Times of India):

"T20 is a game of runs, every team want to score runs. Looking at the practice wicket, I feel it is a slow pitch. In such wickets having a high-scoring game is very less. No IPL match has also happened here."

Hridoy further backed Bangladesh to bounce back in the T20I series despite the absence of star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. He said:

“Pressure is always there, but if we think about that then we will not be able to perform well, our focus is always on process and how to perform. Shakib bhai is not there, we will miss him but everyone has to go one day, we are hopeful we will be able to beat them.”

Notably, the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side lost the two-match Test series against India by a 0-2 margin. The visitors lost their last Test by seven wickets inside five sessions.

The Men in Blue enjoy a great record against Bangladesh, having won 13 out of 14 T20Is. They beat Bangladesh by 50 runs in their last encounter at the 2024 T20 World Cup.
