San Francisco Unicorns defeated Los Angeles Knight Riders in the fourth match of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 by six wickets. They chased down the target of 166 runs in 15.2 overs.

San Francisco Unicorns jumped to first place after winning their first match of the season and possess a net run rate of +2.576. MI New York have moved to second place from first with one win and a loss, having a net run rate of 1.472.

Washington Freedom retained their third place with a win in their first game, while having a net run rate of +0.522. Los Angeles Knight Riders have slipped to fourth position from second and have a net run rate of -0.768. They have won and lost one match each.

Texas Super Kings and Seattle Orcas are still in the last two places. They both lost their first match of the season and have a net run rate of -0.600 and -2.344, respectively.


San Francisco Unicorns triumph by six wickets against LA Knight Riders

The Unicorns won the toss and elected to bowl. The Knight Riders lost their first two wickets for just 15 runs. They managed 42 runs in the powerplay and lost the wicket of Jason Roy just after the powerplay.

Shakib Al Hasan and Nitish Kumar added 45 runs for the fourth wicket. Shakib scored 35 runs off 26 deliveries. Andre Russell provided the finishing touch to the innings and remained unbeaten on 40 runs off 25 deliveries. This late surge helped the Knight Riders post a total of 165 runs for the loss of six wickets. Brody Couch and Haris Rauf took two wickets each for the Unicorns.

The Unicorns lost their first wicket for 15 runs in the third over. However, Finn Allen and Matthew Short added 116 runs for the second wicket.

Short was dismissed after scoring 58 runs off just 26 deliveries in the 12th over. Allen scored a blistering 63 off 37 deliveries before getting out in the 13th over.

The Unicorns chased down the target of 166 runs in 15.2 overs with six wickets in hand. Spencer Johnson took three wickets for 36 runs in four overs and was THE pick of the bowlers for the Knight Riders.
