The Seattle Orcas and Los Angeles Knight Riders locked horns in the 15th match of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 on Wednesday, July 17. Church Street Park in Morrisville hosted the contest.

Seattle Orcas opted to bat first and set a modest 143-run target for the Los Angeles Knight Riders. Ryan Rickelton top-scored with 89 off 52, with Heinrich Klaasen scoring a run-a-ball 23. The rest of the batters were dismissed for single-digit scores.

Spencer Johnson, Andre Russell, Corne Dry, and Sunil Narine secured one wicket for the Knight Riders.

In reply, Narine departed in the third over but Jason Roy (27) and Unmukt Chand (62) stitched together a 58-run partnership for the second wicket. Nitish Kumar (12), Saif Badar (18), and Russell (10) made some handy contributions in the middle as the Knight Riders claimed a comfortable four-wicket win with five balls to spare.

Ryan Rickelton played an excellent 89-run knock on Wednesday and rocketed from fifth position to the top with 225 runs at an average of 75.

Faf du Plessis (209) and Devon Conway (164) dropped to second and third positions, respectively.

Unmukt Chand played a match-winning 62-run knock off 47 balls against Seattle Orcas with the aid of three fours and as many sixes. He jumped from the top 15 to fourth spot with 149 runs in five matches.

Matthew Short slipped from third to fifth, scoring 147 runs in three matches at an average of 49. Travis Head of Washington Freedom is following closely with 141 runs from five innings.

Saurabh Netravalkar and Lockie Ferguson remain in the top two spots with 12 and nine wickets, respectively. Meanwhile, Cameron Gannon took two wickets on Wednesday and moved from fourth to third with nine wickets.

Spencer Johnson dropped from third to fourth, taking eight wickets in five games, including a season-best spell of 3/36.

Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Rashid Khan, and Zia-ul-Haq hold the next four spots, respectively, with six wickets each.

Harmeet Singh of Seattle Orcas picked up two wickets and jumped to the ninth spot with six wickets.

Mohammad Mohsin rounds out the top 10 with five wickets in three innings.
