Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament 2024: Most runs

The 41st match of the 2024 Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament (MCLOT) saw the Colombo Cricket Club register a resounding five-wicket win over the Kandy Customs at the Trinity College Ground, Colombo.

Customs won the toss and elected to bat first, a decision that backfired immediately as they were bundled out for a paltry 155 in 35.5 overs. Thevindu Dickwell (20), Sadishan Chamodya (28) and Salindu Pathirana (41) were the highest run scorers in a sorry-looking Kandy scorecard. Chaturanga de Silva (4/31) helped the Colombo Cricket Club restrict the Kandy Customs to a below-par score.

In reply, contributions from Sonal Dinusha (51* off 38) and Chamindu Wijesinghe (55* off 54) ensured that the Colombo-based franchise won the game in emphatic fashion, with five wickets and more than 25 overs to spare. Dinusha hit six fours and one six in his 51-run knock, while Wijesinghe hit seven boundaries and a six in his innings. Usman Ishak (3/36) was the highest wicket-taker for the Kandy Customs but in vain.
