Kolhapur Tuskers outclassed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings in the 12th game of the Maharashtra Premier League 2024 on Saturday, June 8. The next game of the doubleheader between Ratnagiri Jets and Eagle Nashik Titans was abandoned due to the interruption of rain.

Ratnagiri Jets comfortably maintain their first position in the table with four wins in four games. They have a Net Run Rate of +1.715. Even after today’s loss, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings hold their second spot with an NRR of +0.482.

Raigad Royals take up the third spot with two wins in four games having an NRR of -0.156. Eagle Nashik Titans stay in the fourth position with two wins from three games with an NRR of -0.305.

The fifth and sixth spots are held by Puneri Bappa and Kolhapur Tuskers with NRR of -0.838 and -0.951, respectively. Kolhapur Tuskers witnessed their first win of the season from their five encounters.

In the first game of the day, Kolhapur Tuskers won the toss and pushed the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings to bat first. Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings scored 122 runs with the loss of six wickets in the 17th over when the rain had come into play. Onkar Khatpe was the standout batter for CSK, scoring 39 runs off 32 deliveries with four boundaries and two sixes.

In response, the Kolhapur Tuskers had to chase 93 runs in 11 overs, as per the DLS method. Captain Rahul Tripathi played a magnificent knock blistering 67 runs off just 29 balls, smashing 11 fours and two sixes. He stood tall at a strike rate of 231.03. His opening partner Ankit Bawne also played a cameo, scoring 26 runs off 15 deliveries. Kolhapur Tuskers were in such flow that they chased down the target inside 7.2 overs and clinched their first victory.

The second game of the day was between Ratnagiri Jets and Eagle Nashik Titans, which stood abandoned and postponed to June 9.
