On Sunday, August 18, Mysore Warriors squared off with Gulbarga Mystics in the seventh match of the Maharaja Trophy 2024. Bengaluru Blasters and Shivamogga Lions met in the following game.

Bengaluru Blasters continue to dominate at the top of the Maharaja Trophy 2024 points table with three consecutive wins.

Hubli Tigers are still ranked second in the table with two wins in as many matches. They have a net run rate of +1.252.

Mangalore Dragons and Mysore Warriors also retained their third and fourth spots, respectively, with two points each. Dragons defeated Shivamogga Lions in the previous game while the Warriors lost their last game against the Gulbarga Mystics.

Meanwhile, the Mystics moved from sixth to fifth position after registering their maiden victory over the Warriors by three wickets and the Lions dropped to the bottom of the table with an NRR of -0.879.

Mysore Warriors batted first and racked up a massive 196-run total for the loss of eight wickets. Captain Karun Nair scored 66 off 35 balls, comprising eight fours and three sixes, while Jagadeesha Suchith added 40 runs off 13 balls with six boundaries. Monish Reddy, Prithviraj Shekhawat, and Yashovardhan Parantap bagged two wickets each for Gulbarga Mystics.

In reply, Smaran R played a brilliant, unbeaten innings of 104 runs off 60 balls, leading the Mystics to a comfortable three-wicket victory. Vidyadhar Patil and Manoj Bhandage took two wickets for the Warriors.

In the following game, Bengaluru Blasters secured their third consecutive victory of the tournament, beating Shivamogga Lions by seven wickets. With Hardik Raj’s 69 off 33, the Lions had set a sub-par target of 164 runs. Shubhang Hegde and Lavish Kaushal grabbed two wickets apiece for the Blasters while the rest of the bowling attack claimed one each.

However, Bhuvan Raju's unbeaten 59 off 36 balls, along with skipper Mayank Agarwal's 42 off 34, and contributions of 23 runs each from LR Chethan and Suraj Ahuja helped the Blasters chase down the target in 17.2 overs.

Anand Doddamani picked up two wickets for the Lions while Vasuki Koushik took one.
