The second match of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League saw Jabalpur Lions take on Bhopal Leopards at the MPCA International Cricket Stadium, Gwalior. The Lions won the contest by six wickets.

After being put to the test first, Bhopal Leopards got off to a decent start. Opener Harsh Gawli scored 46 of 44 at a SR of 104.55. Gawli’s innings was laced with three boundaries and two maximums. Apart from him, Arshad Khan and Kamal Tripathi hit substantial runs for the Leopards, scoring 32 and 34, respectively. The Bhopal-based franchise managed to score 173/6 in 20 overs. Puneet Datey and Tripuresh Singh took two wickets each for Jabalpur Lions.

In reply, the Jabalpur Lions overhauled the total with ease, winning the game by six wickets. Skipper Arpit Gaud top-scored with an unbeaten 77, while Kanishk Dubey supported Gaud well, scoring 40 off 30 deliveries.

For Bhopal, Mihir Hirwani took 2/33 in 3.2 overs, while his teammates Mangesh Yadav and Arshad Khan ended their spells with one wicket each to their names.

In the second match, Rewa Jaguars batters Himanshu Mantri (68 off 49), Prithviraj Singh Tomar (77 off 42), and Subham Rathore (14 off 12) made useful contributions after they elected to bat first as they posted a total of 196/5 in 20 overs.

In reply, the Malwa Panthers batting never got going as the Jaguars restricted them to 131/9 in 20 overs. Rewa won the contest by 65 runs.

Parth Sahani, who has amassed an impressive 83 runs in his solitary innings, leads the most runs list with an astonishing average of 83 and a blistering strike rate of 153.70.

Hot on his heels is Jabalpur Lions’ Arpit Gaud, occupying the second spot with 77 runs to his name. Rounding out the top three is Rewa Jaguar’s Pritviraj Singh Tomar, who has accumulated 77 runs at a healthy strike rate of 183.33.

Malwa Panthers’ Akshat Raghuvanshi and Rewa Jaguars' Himanshu Mantri have etched their names in the top five, scoring 72 and 68 runs, respectively.

Meanwhile, Malwa Panther’s Shubham Sharma occupies the sixth position, amassing 61 runs at a remarkable strike rate of 169.44. Gwalior Cheetah’s Apurve Dwivedi and Chanchal Rathore have also made their mark, scoring 61 and 48 runs and occupying the seventh and eighth spots, respectively.

Harsh Gawali and Kartik Parihar round out the top 10 with 46 and 45 runs, respectively.

Shivam Shukla is atop the most wickets chart and has claimed an impressive three scalps at a remarkable average of 6.67. Closely trailing is the Malwa Panthers bowling sensation Harshwardhan Singh, who occupies the second spot with three wickets to his name.

Harshwardhan’s teammate Ritesh Shakya has etched his name in third place, having taken three wickets at an impressive average of 19. Kulwant Khejroliya occupies the fourth spot with two wickets to his name, while Kumar Kartikeya has claimed an equal number of scalps.

Vishnu Bhardwaj and Tripuresh Singh have both made their mark, snaring two wickets apiece. Meanwhile, Ankit Singh Kushwah, Mihir Hirwani, and Lucky Mishra have also etched their names in the top 10 with two wickets each.
