The ninth match of the 2024 Madhya Pradesh T20 League saw the Malwa Panthers take on the Bhopal Leopards on Friday, June 21. The MPCA International Cricket Stadium, Gwalior hosted the clash, which the Leopards won by a 39-run margin. Meanwhile, the 10th match of the tournament between the Titans and North West ended in a no result.

After being put to the test first, the Leopards got off to a decent start, with openers Ankush Singh and Siddarth Patidat scoring 39 and 27 runs, respectively. Wicket-keeper batters Harsh Gawli and Aniket Verma scored the most for the Leopards, scoring 66* and 123* each with an SR of 200 and 300, respectively.

Gawli’s innings were laced with seven boundaries and three sixes, while Verma’s innings consisted of eight fours and a total of 13 maximums. In the end, the Bhopal Leopards managed to score 278/4 in 20 overs. In reply, the Tuskers fell well short of the target as they could only score 239/10 runs in 20 overs. Kamal Tripathi ended his spell with 5/21 for the Leopards.

Shifting our focus to the 10th encounter of the tournament between the Rewa Jaguars and Jabalpur Lions. Batting first, the Rewa Jaguars managed to score 189/8 in 20 overs courtesy of Pankaj Sharma’s 80 off just 42 deliveries.

Sharma was given able support by his teammate Harsh Dixit, who scored 62 off 32 deliveries. Aryan Pandey finished his spell with bowling figures of 3/45 in four overs for the Jabalpur Lions.

Chasing 190, opener Abhishek Pathak scored a scintillating 74 off 37 deliveries. His knock, coupled with an important half-century from Aman Bhadoriya down the order, ensured the Lions a victory by two wickets and three balls to spare.

Shivam Shukla (5/29) put in a great shift for the Rewa Jaguars, only to be on the losing side.

Leading the charge is Aniket Verma, who has amassed an impressive 212 runs across four innings. With a decent average of 70.67 runs and a blistering strike rate of 225.53, Verma tops the most runs chart with ease.

Hot on Verma’s heels is Akshat Raghuwanshi, occupying the second spot with 182 runs to his name. Rounding out the top three is Harsh Gawlo, who has accumulated 173 runs with a highest score of 66 and a healthy average of 43.25.

Notably, Himanshu Mantri and Shubham Sharma have etched their names in the top five, contributing 158 and 150 runs, respectively. Harsh Dixit occupies the sixth position, amassing 143 runs at an average of 47.67.

Abhishek Pathak and Parth Sahani have also made their mark, scoring 127 runs and 116 occupying the seventh and eighth spots, respectively. Arpit Gaud and Prithviraj Singh Tomar round out the top ten with 108 and 101 runs to their names, respectively.

Shivam Shukla is atop the most wickets chart and has claimed an impressive 10 scalps at a remarkable average of 11.10. Closely trailing Shukla is Puneet Datey, who occupies the second spot with eight wickets to his name.

Kuldeep Sen has etched his name in third place, having taken seven wickets at an average of 21.43. Ankit Kushwah occupies the fourth spot with six wickets , while Tripuresh Singh has also claimed an equal number of scalps and sees himself in the fifth spot.

Kamal Tripathi (6), Aryan Pandey (6), Parth Sahani (5), Mihir Hirwani (5) and Priyanshu Shukla (4) round off the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and 10th spots respectively.
