The final of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024 was played on Sunday, June 23, between the Jabalpur Lions and the Bhopal Leopards. Bhopal won the toss and asked the Lions to bat first. Abhishek Pathak smashed a scintillating unbeaten 62-ball 142. Arpit Gaud (43) and Aryan Deshmukh (36*) also scored key runs as the Lions put up a mammoth 249/4.
Gautam Raghuwanshi, Priyanshu Shukla, and Mihir Hirwani picked up a wicket apiece for the Leopards.
In reply, the Bhopal Tigers put up a tough fight but fell short by 33 runs in the end as the Lions clinched the trophy in the maiden edition of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League.
Siddharth Patidar (44), Aniket Verma (29), Gautam Raghuwanshi (36), and Harsh Gawli (24) were their major contributors with the bat. They were bowled out for 216. Tripuresh Singh grabbed three wickets and Abhishek Pathak claimed two, being the top-wicket takers for Jabalpur in this high-scoring final.
The Jabalpur Lions held their nerves to defend their total and claim the title in a thrilling contest.
Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024 Most Runs List
Retaining his top spot, Aniket Sharma finished the highest run-getter in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024 with 273 runs. Abhishek Pathak, with his blistering unbeaten century in the final, took a massive stride to jump six slots to the second position with 269 runs from five innings.
Harsh Gawli with 198 runs retained his third position in the list. Akshat Raguwanshi dropped from second to fourth position with 182 runs against his name. Himanshu Mantri also slipped from fourth to fifth position with 158 runs from four innings.
Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024 Most Wickets List
Shivam Shukla with 10 wickets from four innings held his top position to finish as the leading wicket-taker in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024.
Tripuresh Singh, with nine wickets and an average of 14.44, jumped from eighth to the second position in this list. He picked up three wickets in the final against Bhopal. Kamal Tripathi slipped from second to third with nine wickets from six innings and an average of 15.44.
Ankit Kushwah, with eight wickets from four innings and an average of 14.63, dropped from third to fourth position in this list.
Similarly, Puneet Datey, also with eight wickets and an average of 16.13, slipped from number four to number five in this list.
