The Gwalior Cheetahs beat the Rewa Jaguars by two wickets in the fifth match of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024 on Tuesday, June 18. Match No. 6 between the Malwa Panthers and the Jabalpur Lions ended with no result as it was abandoned due to rain. Thus both teams shared points on this occasion.

Gwalior Cheetahs moved to first place in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024 with four points. They have two wins and a defeat with a net run rate of +0.063.

Jabalpur Lions, with one and no result from their second game, retain their second position with three points and a net run rate of +2.003. Courtesy of a washed-out game, the Malwa Panthers move a spot up to third position with three points and a net run rate of -1.466.

With that, the Rewa Jaguars, with two points, dropped from the first place to the fourth with a net run rate of +1.222. Bhopal Leopards, with two defeats from as many games, are yet to open their account and are at the bottom of the table. They have a poor net run rate of -0.2003.


Gwalior Cheetahs register second win, move to the top of Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024 standings

Gwalior Cheetahs put the Rewa Jaguars in to bat first after winning the toss in the fifth match of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024. The Jaguars put up a fighting total of 157/7 from their 20 overs. Harsh Dixit top-scored with 49 runs. Skipper Himanshu Mantri (32) and Kumar Kartikeya (22*) made decent contributions with the bat, adding to the total.

Chhetahs' skipper Parth Sahani led from the front with the ball, returning with scintillating figures of 4/7 from just two overs. Ishan Afridi picked up two wickets while Arpit Patel grabbed one as well.

The Cheetahs didn't have a good start to the run-chase and were reduced to 85/4. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals. However, crucial knocks of 36 from Venkatesh Iyer, 31 from Sanjog Singh, and 26 from Arpit Patel took them over the line. They won with just two deliveries and as many wickets to spare.

Kuldeep Sen was the star of the show with the ball for the Jaguars, picking up five wickets for 27 runs from his four overs. Unfortunately, his brilliant display went in vain as his side failed to defend the target in the end.

The other match of the day between the Malwa Panthers and the Jabalpur Lions was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.
