Fans reacted as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Harshit Rana was ruled out of India's final T20I against Bangladesh due to a viral infection, further delaying his debut. The Men in Blue won the match comfortably by 133 runs, completing their 3-0 whitewash.

The youngster was among the best bowling performers in IPL 2024 and played a crucial role in KKR's trophy-winning season this year. He also received an India call-up on the T20I side after those impressive performances. Harshit scalped 19 wickets across 13 games in IPL 2024 and went on to lift the trophy with the Knight Riders.

Many expected that Harshit Rana might make his debut for the Indian team during the Bangladesh series, as multiple front-line players were rested. However, the team management chose to go with Mayank Yadav and Arshdeep Singh as the only two pacers in the first two matches in the series. Unfortunately, Harshit was unavailable for selection ahead of the third T20I when management decided to rest Arshdeep Singh. BCCI's official statement on the matter read:

"Mr. Harshit Rana was unavailable for selection for the third T20I due to a viral infection and did not travel with the team to the stadium."

IPL fans took note of the development and used it to compile hilarious memes on social media platforms. Most of them feel that KKR have a great chance to retain Harshit ahead of the mega auction as an uncapped player. Here are some of the best memes on the matter:

India whitewash Bangladesh in T20I series with a 133-run victory in the 3rd match in Hyderabad

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bat first in the third T20I on Saturday. On a flat surface in Hyderabad, Sanju Samson (111), Suryakumar Yadav (75), Hardik Pandya (47), and Riyan Parag (34) went on a rampage to power the hosts to a massive total of 297/6 in 20 overs. It is the highest T20I total by a Test-playing nation.

Bangladesh then could not do much in the chase as they limped to 164/7 in 20 overs and lost the match comfortably by 133 runs. Ravi Bishnoi scalped three wickets and starred for the home team in the bowling department.

Team India will now shift their attention to Test cricket as they host New Zealand in a three-match series, starting on October 16.
