Lanka Premier League 2024 Top run-getters and wicket-takers after B-Love Kandy vs Dambulla Sixers (Updated) ft. Mark Chapman and Dasun Shanaka

B-Love Kandy took on Dambulla Sixers in the first match of the Lanka Premier League on Monday, July 1, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele. Kandy won the toss and elected to bowl.

Dambulla lost their first four wickets for 25. Mark Chapman and Chamindu Wickramasinghe added 154 for the fifth wicket. Chapman scored 91 \off 61, while Wickramasinghe made 62 off 42. Both batters remained unbeaten.

They helped Dambulla to 179-4 in 20 overs. Dasun Shanka was the pick of the bowlers for Kandy with three wickets for 20 runs in four overs.

Kandy lost their first two wickets for 26. Kamindu Mendis and Dinesh Chandimal had a partnership of 56 for the third wicket. Chandimal scored 65 off 40 and was the highest scorer for the team.

Angelo Mathews and Shanka played some fine cricketing shots during the latter part of the innings. They helped Kandy reach their target in 17.2 overs with six wickets in hand. Shanaka won the Player of the Match award.

Mark Chapman was the leading run-scorer on the first day of the tournament. He scored 91 off 61. Dinesh Chandimal made 65 runs at a strike rate of 162.50 and jumped to second position.

Chamindu Wickramasinghe scored 62 off 42 and is third. Dasun Shanka is in fourth position and scored 46 off 15. Angelo Mathews is fifth with 37 runs at a strike rate of 185 for Kandy.
