Trivandrum Royals secured a five-wicket win against Kochi Blue Tigers in the 15th match of Kerala Cricket League T20 2024 on Monday, September 9. Meanwhile, Calicut Globstars bagged a six-wicket win against Alleppey Ripples in the 16th game.

Aries Kollam Sailors stay on the top of the points table with four wins and one loss, picking up eight points. Calicut Globstars moved up from the fourth to the second rank with three wins and two losses with six points at an NRR of 0.701.

Trivandrum Royals ascended from the sixth to the third rank with three wins and as many losses, accumulating six points at an NRR of -0.855. Kochi Blue Tigers descended from the third to the fourth rank with two wins and four losses, amassing four points at an NRR of 0.227.

Thrissur Titans slid from the second to the fifth rank with four points at an NRR of 0.189. Alleppey Ripples glided down from the fifth to the sixth rank with four points at an NRR of -1.361.


Abdul Basith was exceptional with his all-round heroics

In the 15th match, Kochi Blue Tigers were tasked to bat first after losing the toss. Keeper-batter Nikhil Thottath scored 37 runs in 20 balls with four fours and two sixes. Eventually, they got bundled out for 131 runs in 20 overs. Vinod Kumar scalped a four-wicket haul, conceding 16 runs in four overs while captain Abdul Basith picked up a three-wicket haul for Trivandrum Royals.

In response, Royals finished off the game in 19.5 overs with five wickets in hand. Captain Abdul Basith continued his all-round performance with 50* runs in 32 balls, featuring one four and five sixes. He was well supported by Akarsh AK with 25 runs in 24 balls.

In the 16th encounter, Ripples got bundled out for a below-par score of 90 runs in 18.5 overs. Ujwal Krishna and Akshay TK were the top scorers with 32 and 34 runs respectively. Akhil Dev V scalped a four-fer for the Globstars in the first innings.

In the chase, Globstars sealed the deal in 11.5 overs with six wickets in hand. No. 3 batter Arun KA shined with 34* runs in 23 balls with three fours and two sixes. Anand Joseph's two wickets went in vain for the Ripples.
