Thrissur Titans secured an eight-wicket win over Trivandrum Royals in the seventh match of the Kerala Cricket League T20 2024 while Kochi Blue Tigers bagged a 64-run win against Alleppey Ripples in the eighth game.

Shifting our focus to the first game of the day, Royals batted first and posted a below-par total of 127/7 in 20 overs. Middle-order batter Akhil was the top-scorer with 36* runs while Krishnan Midhun and Imran Ahammed scalped two wickets apiece for the Titans.

In response, the Titans sealed the deal in only 13 overs with eight wickets in hand. Opening batters Anand Sagar (41), Varun Nayanar (30) and No.3 batter Vishnu Vinod (47) stood tall to take their side home.

In the second contest of the day, the Tigers were tasked to bat first after losing the toss. Openers Jobin Joby (79) and Anand Krishnan (69) were the star batters in until the middle overs while Shoun Roger (28*) and Manukrishnan (34*) provided a flourish to post 218/2 in 20 overs.

In reply, Ripples got bundled out for 154 runs in 17.3 overs. Akshay TK (47) and Alfi Francis (42) shone bright while Basil Thampi and Jerin PS scalped three wickets apiece for the Tigers to bag a 64-run win.

Tigers batter Jobin Joby ascended from the fifth to the top spot in the batting charts with 143 runs from three innings. Sailors batter Abhishek J Nair slid from the top to the second rank with 127 runs from two matches.

Ripples batter Mohammed Azharuddeen descended from the second to the third position with 120 runs. Titans batter Akshay Manohar slipped one spot to the fourth rank with 95 runs. His colleague Akshay T K moved up from the 16th to the fifth rank with 82 runs.

Titans attacking batter Vishnu Vinod ascended from the 17th to the sixth position with 79 runs. Shoun Roger propelled from the ninth to the seventh rank with 75 runs at 37.5. Abdul Basith glided down from the sixth to the eighth rank with 75 runs at an average of 25.

Anand Krishnan rocketed from the 41st to the ninth spot with 75 runs from three innings at 25 while MS Akhil moved up from 12th to 10th rank with 74 runs.

Tigers captain Basil Thampi moved up from the third to the top spot in the bowling charts with nine wickets. Ripples bowlers Anand Joseph and Fazil Fanoos slipped one spot each to the second and third ranks with seven scalps at 11.57 and 13.43.

Globstars all-rounder Akhil Scaria moved one spot up to the fourth rank with five wickets at 8.8. Royals bowler Abdul Basith descended from the fourth to the fifth rank with five wickets at 8.8. Tigers' Jerin PS rocketed from the 15th to the sixth rank with five wickets at 10.8.

NP Basil slid from the sixth to the seventh rank with four wickets at 8.5. Imran Ahammed moved up from the 11th to the eighth rank with four wickets at 11.25. KM Asif (4) and Sharafuddeen NM (3) slid two spots each to the ninth and 10th ranks with an average of 15.25 and 10 respectively.
