Team India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Shivam Dube will not be taking part in the first T20I game of the series between India and Bangladesh today, October 6. Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior plays host to the first of three T20Is scheduled for the series.

Shivam Dube has been a part of Team India since the start of the year and was also a part of the squad that won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The 31-year-old was also a part of the ODI squad that played the Sri Lanka tour. However, he has been ruled out of the series, with Tilak Varma replacing him.

Shivam Dube was a part of the T20I squad when India and Bangladesh faced off in 2019. The all-rounder had a good showing in the series finale, picking up his best figures of 3/30 in four overs.

Team India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Suryakumar Yadav said at the toss that the hosts are fielding two debutants in all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy and speedster Mayank Yadav. Here is what he had to say:

"We will bowl first. Looks little humid and I don't think there will be any change in the wicket. It's always a great feeling coming back home and playing in these conditions. Absolutely there is a lot of talent involved in the group, the energy is great and the guys are keen to learn.
"Looks really beautiful and the crowd looks lovely. I am really excited to play here. Pitch looks great. It's a good headache to have. The guys who are doing well and the guys who have have come up we had to give them chances. Tilak Varma, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshit Rana and Jitesh Sharma miss out."

The match is underway with the score reading 75/6 after 12 overs for Bangladesh. They will be looking to make a winning start to the series and record only their second T20I win over hosts India.
