IPL 2024 Points Table: Updated standings after DC vs SRH match

Sunrisers Hyderabad jumped from fourth to second position in the IPL 2024 points table after a comprehensive win against the Delhi Capitals on Saturday, April 20. The Hyderabad-based franchise now have 10 points to their name from seven matches.

SRH once again demolished a bowling unit in IPL 2024. Travis Head and Shahbaz Ahmed smacked a half-century each for the Orange Army to help them reach 266/7 in 20 overs. In reply, Delhi Capitals started well but were eventually bowled out for 199 runs.

Courtesy of the result in Delhi last night, the Sunrisers Hyderabad stand second in the IPL 2024 points table. Their net run rate has also improved from +0.502 to +0.914. Here are the updated standings:

Delhi Capitals have dropped down from sixth to seventh position as their net run rate declined from -0.074 to -0.477. They have six points to their name after eight games in the league round so far.

Sunrisers Hyderabad can lose the 2nd spot in IPL 2024 points table tonight

While the Sunrisers Hyderabad have recently moved up from fourth to second position in the standings, they can fall to the third spot on Sunday if the Kolkata Knight Riders defeat the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. KKR have a better net run rate than SRH right now, and if they beat RCB, they will rise to the second position.

Later in the day, former champions Gujarat Titans will take on the Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium. The Titans suffered a massive defeat in their last match against the Delhi Capitals, but they can jump back into the upper half of the points table with a colossal win against the Punjab Kings.

Notably, Punjab Kings defeated Gujarat Titans in a high-scoring thriller at the Narendra Modi Stadium earlier this month. GT will be keen to avenge that loss tonight in Mullanpur.
