India thumped Bangladesh by 133 runs in yesterday's T20I match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. With the win, the Men in Blue completed a 3-0 whitewash of Bangladesh. Earlier, the visitors had lost the two-match Test series 2-0.

Batting first after winning the toss, Team India posted a massive total of 297-6, the highest-ever by a Test nation in T20Is. Opening the innings, Sanju Samson hammered a career-best 111 off 47. In their chase, Bangladesh were held to 164-7 as the hosts completed a comprehensive triumph.

Earlier, India lost Abhishek Sharma for 4 as he miscued a pull off Tanzim Hasan Sakib. However, Samson and skipper Suryakumar Yadav (75 off 35) added 173 for the second wicket to put the hosts in a commanding position. Samson struck 11 fours and eight sixes in his scintillating knock. Five of his maximums came off consecutive deliveries in the 10th over bowled by Rishad Hossain.

Suryakumar also carried on his impressive form in T20Is, clobbering eight fours and five sixes in his brilliant innings. Samson brought up his maiden T20I ton off just 40 balls, the second-fastest by an Indian, by lofting Mahedi Hasan for a four over his head at the start of the 13th over. His exceptional innings ended when he dragged a pull off a slower ball from Mustafizur Rahman to deep square leg.

Suryakumar fell soon after, sweeping Mahmudullah to deep midwicket. All-rounders Hardik Pandya (47 off 18) and Riyan Parag (34 off 13), though, played scintillating cameos to lift India. The innings ended in perfect fashion as Rinku Singh clubbed Tanzim Hasan Sakib for a six over deep midwicket.

Bangladesh stumble in huge chase

Chasing an improbable 298, Bangladesh got off to the worst possible start as Mayank Yadav had Parvez Hossain Emon caught at slip first ball with an excellent short delivery. Tanzid Hasan (15) and skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto (14) perished inside the powerplay as Bangladesh were three down for 59.

There was no final hurray from Mahmudullah (8) as he holed out trying to take on Mayank. Towhid Hridoy (63* off 42) and Litton Das (42 off 25) offered some resistance for the visitors, but India were never put under any sort of pressure.

Who was the Player of the Match in yesterday’s India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I?

Samson played a sensational knock for India in Hyderabad. His hundred set up the team's huge win. Skipper Suryakumar also played a fine hand. With the ball, Ravi Bishnoi (3-30) and Mayank (2-32) stood out. For Bangladesh, Hridoy and Litton were the only batters to make an impact. Keeper-batter Samson was named Player of the Match for his maiden T20I ton.
