Team India batter Rinku Singh got a new tattoo done ahead of the T20I series against Bangladesh next month. Rinku got the tattoo done on his left hand with the message “God’s plan” – which he first used for his Uttar Pradesh teammate Yash Dayal during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Instagram.

The word was used after Dayal helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to reach the finals of the T20 tournament. Later India’s new T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav teased Rinku with the same word on social media.

In a picture shared on Instagram, Rinku was seen getting his new tattoo done by an artist at a shop. Take a look:

Several Indian cricketers love tattoos, including Suryakumar, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul.

On the professional front, Rinku failed to deliver in the T20I series in Sri Lanka with the bat, scoring just six runs. The left-handed batter returned with identical scores of 1 in the first and third T20I. He, however, bagged two wickets to help India tie against Sri Lanka in the third T20I, where the Men in Blue won in Super Over.

On the batting front, Rinku Singh has amassed 418 runs in 23 T20Is at a strike rate of 174.16, including two half-centuries. He has also represented India in two ODIs, scoring 17 and 38 against South Africa in December last year.

“Keep your skills and especially the fitness levels high” – What Gautam Gambhir told youngsters after the T20I series vs Sri Lanka ft. Rinku Singh

Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir urged the youngsters, including Rinku Singh, to keep their fitness levels during the two-month break from T20Is. He told BCCI (via Hindustan Times):

"Some of the guys will not be a part of the 50-overs format will have a longer break, so make sure when you come back for the Bangladesh series...you can take a break. You absolutely deserve it, but more importantly, keep your skills and especially the fitness levels high."
"You don't want to come for that series thinking that 'okay, I can just turn up, probably deliver for the team'. So, make sure that from the fitness point of view, the fitness levels are right up there," he added.

The three-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh will be played in Gwalior, Delhi, and Hyderabad on October 6, 9, and 12, respectively.
