Punjab Kings star player Jitesh Sharma got engaged to Shalaka Makeshwar. The wicketkeeper took to Instagram to share the picture to announce the news. The 30-year-old added that they got married on August 8.

In a couple of pictures shared on Instagram, Jitesh can be seen wearing black pants and a grey shirt, while Shalaka opted for a traditional saree. The couple wore garlands, a usual sight in Hindu wedding ceremonies. Notably, the couple hails from Maharashtra.

Announcing the good news, Jitesh Sharma captioned his Instagram post:

“In this crazy world, we found our forever on 8.8.8. 8th August 2024.”

Jitesh Sharma has represented India in 9 T20Is

Jitesh Sharma has played nine T20Is for India, scoring 100 runs at a strike rate of 147.05. He was part of two T20Is during the T20I series against Afghanistan earlier this year. He, however, failed to make his opportunities count. The right-hander followed that with a below-par IPL season with the Punjab Kings, scoring 187 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 131.69.

As a result, Jitesh failed to impress the selectors for the recently concluded 2024 T20 World Cup, where the Men in Blue were crowned as new champions. The Amravati-born player will now look to deliver in the next IPL season and make his national comeback.
