India wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia enjoyed a ‘magical evening’ at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on Friday, July 12. Yastika, who plays for Ambani-owned Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), took the opportunity to meet star cricketers and Bollywood celebrities.
In a flurry of photos shared by Yastika on Instagram, she can be seen posing with former India captain MS Dhoni, Jonty Rhodes, Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao, and her India Women teammates, including skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana.
The 23-year-old looked gorgeous in a designer lehenga with yellow and turquoise shades. Yastika captioned her post:
“What a magical evening.”

Apart from Yastika, several other cricketers and Bollywood celebrities attended the wedding ceremony of Anant and Radhika. The celebrations will continue on Saturday and Sunday (July 13 and 14). The two days are dedicated to seeking blessings from elders and hosting a wedding reception.
“Unbelievable talent, a gem for India” – When MI head coach lauded Yastika Bhatia
Mumbai Indians Women’s team head coach Charlotte Edwards recently lauded Yastika Bhatia for her rise in international cricket. The former England captain called Yastika an ‘unbelievable talent’ and credited her for her aggressive brand of cricket.
Edwards said during the 2024 WPL season (via Mumbai Indians):
“What we asked of her last season was to be aggressive and enjoy her cricket. I couldn’t speak more highly of Yastika. She is an unbelievable talent is going to play for India for years to come. We are seeing glimpses of what she can do."
“She is one of my favourite players to watch at the moment. Wonderful to see her going out there, take the game on, and I want her to enjoy it. India have gotten a gem there I think moving forward,” she added.
Yastika Bhatia has represented India in three Tests, 25 ODIs, and 19 T20Is. The Baroda-born player has amassed 894 runs across formats with the help of five half-centuries. In WPL, Bhatia has scored 418 runs in 18 matches at a strike rate of 116.43.
