Indian ace pacer and the world’s number one Test bowler Jasprit Bumrah was present at the India vs Pakistan Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 match. The game was held on Sunday, October 6, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Bumrah was last in action during India's two-match Test series against Bangladesh, where the 30-year-old took 11 wickets, helping India achieve a clean sweep. On Sunday, he attended the Women in Blue’s T20 World Cup match against Pakistan.

The right-arm pacer will next be in action when India takes on New Zealand in a three-match Test series, starting on Wednesday, October 16, in Bengaluru.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first on Sunday. The Women in Green didn’t start well, losing Gull Feroza for a duck in the first over. Her opening partner Muneeba Ali scored 17 runs off 26 balls.

India's bowlers excelled in the middle overs, and Pakistan found themselves at 52 with half their team dismissed. Nida Dar was Pakistan's top scorer, contributing 28 runs off 34 balls. The Women in Green finished their innings at 105 for eight, with Arundhati Reddy claiming three wickets for India.

In response, Smriti Mandhana was out for seven runs off 16 balls in the fifth over. Shafali Verma played a solid innings, scoring 32 runs off 35 balls with three boundaries.

Harmanpreet Kaur performed brilliantly, finishing unbeaten on 29 runs off 24 balls before retiring hurt due to a neck injury.

India secured victory by six wickets with seven balls to spare, marking their first win after losing their opening match against New Zealand. The Women in Blue will next take on Sri Lanka in their third match of the tournament on Wednesday, October 9.
