The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is soon approaching and the warm-up matches are set to be played from Saturday, September 28 to Tuesday, October 1.
Pakistan Women, Bangladesh Women, Sri Lanka Women, Scotland Women, New Zealand Women, South Africa Women, India Women, West Indies Women, Australia Women, and England Women will be seen in the warm-up matches.
During the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up games, each nation will play two fixtures. Pakistan and Scotland Women, along with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Women will be seen in the first two games on Saturday, September 28.
Three games will be played on Sunday, September 29. Two matches will take place on Monday, September 30, while Tuesday, October 1, which is the last day of the warm-up fixtures, will see three matches being played.
The tournament was initially set to be hosted by Bangladesh. However, following political unrest in the nation, the tournament has now been shifted to the UAE. The 10 participating teams are divided into two groups of five teams each.
For the warm-up matches, three venues in UAE have been selected - The Sevens Stadium, ICC Academy, and ICC Academy Ground No. 2.
For the showpiece event, Australia will be led by Alyssa Healy. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain India while Sophie Devine will lead New Zealand. Fatima Sana is the skipper for Pakistan and Chamari Athapaththu will captain Sri Lanka.
Nigar Sultana Joy handles the duties for Bangladesh while Heather Knight is at the helm for England. Kathryn Bryce, Laura Wolvaardt and Hayley Matthews will lead Scotland, South Africa, and the West Indies, respectively.
