Namibia chase down 234 to hand Oman their first loss of the tournament

Namibia decided to field first against Oman at the Forthill Cricket Ground. Sizable contributions from skipper Aqib Ilyas (39 off 76), Zeeshan Maqsood (51 off 99), Khalid Kail (51 off 66), and Shoaib Khan (30 off 18) helped Oman post a decent total of 233/8 in 50 overs. Ben Shikongo finished with a four-fer (4/29) in nine overs for Namibia, while his teammates Junior Kariata, Jack Brassell, and Bernard Scholtz scalped a wicket each.

In reply, Namibian openers Michael van Lingen (30 off 41) and Lohandre Louwrens (29 off 65) provided a decent start to the chase. However, Jan Frylinck's 81-ball 73 was the talk of the match as he scored eight boundaries and helped Namibia inch closer to the required target.

Skipper Gerhard Erasmus (36 off 46) and JJ Smit (44* off 37) ensured Namibia chased the target in 47.5 overs with six wickets in hand. Bilal Khan was Oman’s highest wicket-taker (2/40), but in vain.
