Oman successfully chased down a target of 197 runs against Namibia in the 17th encounter of the 2024 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 on Wednesday, July 24.

Aqib Ilyas' 68-run knock stirs Oman to victory
Oman elected to field first against Namibia at Forthill Dundee. Namibian batters Michael van Lingen (40 off 55), Malan Kruger (73 off 90), and JJ Smit (41 off 75) top-scored for Namibia and helped them post a target of 196/9 in 50 overs. van Lingen and Kruger shared 13 boundaries in between them, while Smit hit two fours and a maximum. Bilal Khan (3/50) and Fayyaz Butt (2/37) ended the first innings as Oman’s highest wicket-takers.
The game went down to the wire as Oman skipper Aqib Ilyas (68 off 129) and Khalid Kail (43 off 55) helped Oman chase the target with just five deliveries and four wickets to spare. Jack Brassell scalped two wickets for Namibia but in vain.
