Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Varun Chakravarthy recently said that he has a keen interest in filmmaking and already has a few scripts ready with him. He mentioned that he wrote one of those scripts keeping Tamil superstar Vijay, who is fondly called Thalapathy by fans, in mind.

Vijay announced his retirement from acting earlier this year and ventured into politics with the launch of his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Chakravarthy stated that he would happily give his script to Vijay if the actor-turned-politician wanted to make a comeback in films.

Speaking on Ravichandran Ashwin's YouTube channel, Chakravarthy said:

"I have written a story for him (Vijay) as well. If he asks for it, I will give him a chance to make a comeback."

Chakravarthy spoke about having different aspirations at this stage of his career, with filmmaking being one of them. Here's what the crafty spinner said about his love for movies:

"When I was 25, I had four-five dreams. A 25-year-old normally knows what he wants to do. Now, I have two-three goals of what I want to do. So, definitely, filmmaking is a big part and that keeps my creative side going on. I like to make stories, I like to cook up stories. I like to use two-three different characters and create 2-3 different situations. Based on that, I have written three stories. I have written full-bound scripts. The scripts are with dialogues and screenplay."

It is worth mentioning that before making his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2019, Varun Chakravarthy completed a degree in architecture and worked as a freelancer.

"Some people would say he is not a mystery spinner, he is a mistri spinner" - Varun Chakravarthy on trolls

In the same video, Varun Chakravarthy stated that he gets trolled by being called a mistri (master craftsman) spinner after an expensive spell. He joked about fans asking him to go back to being an architect whenever he fails to perform well on the cricket field. Chakravarthy said:

"If a match didn't go well, you would say, I got hit badly, some people would say he is not a mystery spinner, he is mistri spinner. That's what people said. My mistri is, I am an architect. So, to build buildings, I think they are asking me to go back to mistri job."

Varun Chakravarthy was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad in IPL 2024. The Kolkata-based side beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets in the final to clinch their third title. Chakravarthy was the leading wicket-taker of the season for KKR, bagging 21 scalps from 14 innings at an economy rate of 8.04.
