Former Team India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh's extraordinary life both on and off the field is set to be portrayed on the big screen soon. Bhushan Kumar along with Ravi Bhagchandka will bring the extraordinary journey to cinemas.

Yuvraj's journey has been arguably the most dramatic one among Indian cricketers. He has battled cancer to win laurels for the country, including the 2011 ODI World Cup at home.

The cricketer from Punjab hopes that his biopic will inspire millions of people to overcome their own challenges. During a media brief, Yuvraj Singh said (via mid-day):

“I am deeply honored that my story will be showcased to millions of my fans across the globe by Bhushan ji and Ravi. Cricket has been my greatest love and source of strength through all the highs and lows. I hope this film inspires others to overcome their own challenges and pursue their dreams with unwavering passion.”

Producer Bhusan Kumar, who is known for bringing compelling narratives to the big screen, is thrilled by the upcoming project, which he feels needs to be told.

“Yuvraj Singh’s life is a compelling narrative of resilience, triumph, and passion. His journey from a promising cricketer to a cricketing hero, and then to a hero in real life, is truly inspiring. I am thrilled to bring a story that needs to be told and heard through the big screen and to celebrate his extraordinary achievements," Kumar said.

The Chandigarh-native is known for his ability to hit the ball long and clean. His backlift and flow are a work of art that many youngsters strive to achieve.

While his Test career left a lot to be desired, Yuvraj was a master in white-ball formats, nailing the finisher's role even before MS Dhoni came into the picture.

The southpaw played 304 ODIs for the Men in Blue, aggregating 8,701 runs at an average of 37 and a strike rate of 87.67, including 14 centuries and 52 fifties. The highlight of his glowing career was winning the 2011 World Cup. He amassed 362 runs, picked up 15 wickets, and four Player of the Match awards. He was also named the Player of the Tournament.

This achievement put even his heorics at the 2007 T20 World Cup in the backseat where he famously hit former England pacer Stuart Broad for six maximums in an over. Overall, Yuvraj Singh played 58 T20I games and scored 1,177 runs, including eight half-centuries.
