Australia speedster Spencer Johnson has heaped praise on Team India star Jasprit Bumrah. He made the comments on cricket.com.au's Unplayable podcast.

Spencer Johnson came to prominence with his performance in The Hundred 2024. Playing for Oval Invincibles against Manchester Originals, Johnson conceded only one run in 20 balls and picked up three wickets. This forced many to take note of the pacer.

Over the next few months, Johnson went on to make his Australia debut in T20Is and ODIs. He has so far picked up six wickets in five T20Is and has had no success in one ODI.

When asked about all-format bowling, the Aussie pacer was full of praise for Jasprit Bumrah. Johnson watched him play at the 2024 IPL and was left in awe. He said:

"He's unbelievable. He's the mould for all three formats. We played against him and you're in awe when you're watching him."

Spencer Johnson was one of the most expensive buys at 2024 IPL Auction

Coming late on in the 2024 IPL auction, Spencer Johson was part of a bidding war between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans. In the end, Johnson was signed by Gujarat Titans for a whopping sum of ₹10 crore.

This made him the sixth most expensive player and the third most expensive Australian at the auction behind Mitchell Starc (₹24.75 crore) and Pat Cummins (₹20.50 crore).

However, Johnson had a tough season. He featured in five matches for the Titans, picking up four wickets at an economy of 9.43 runs per over.
