On Sunday, July 28, Vancouver Knights and Montreal Tigers squared off in the sixth match of the Global T20 Canada (GT20 Canada) 2024 while Toronto Nationals and Surrey Jaguars met in the next game on the same day.

Montreal Tigers, having won two games in a row, including a win against Vancouver Knights, moved from second to first spot with a net run rate of 1.075. Meanwhile, Toronto Nationals suffered their first loss against Surrey Jaguars after two straight wins and slipped from the top to the second spot.

On the other hand, Jaguars jumped from sixth to third position with an NRR of 0.525. Brampton Wolves and Bangla Tigers Mississauga occupy the next two spots with two points each while Vancouver Knights, having lost all three games, sit at the foot of the table.

Montreal Tigers were asked to bat first in the first game of Day 4 against Vancouver Knights. With Corbin Bosch (35*), Dilpreet Bajwa (33), Azmatullah Omarzai (27), and handy contributions from Aayan Khan (16* off 13), they posted a 145-run target, losing seven wickets in the process.

Dwaine Pretorius and Mohammad Amir chipped in with two wickets each for the Knights while Sandeep Lamichhane and Jeremy Gordon took one apiece.

In reply, despite gritty knocks from Reeza Hendricks (34), Dipendra Singh Airee (30* off 15), and Pretorius (31 off 20), Vancouver Knights fell 10 runs short of the target.

Aayan was the pick of the bowlers with a three-wicket haul while Kaleem Sana picked up two wickets and Omarzai took one.

In the following game, Surrey Jaguars batted first and set a total of 161 runs on the board for six. Skipper Marcus Stoinis led the batting unit with a 37-ball half-century while Kyle Mayers scored 27 and Virandeep Singh added 23. Muhammad Rohid Khan and Junaid Siddique took two wickets each for the Toronto Nationals while Jatinderpal Matharu and Romario Shepherd claimed one apiece.

In response, Toronto were bundled out for 81 in 17.1 overs, with Unmukt Chand top-scoring (21 off 17) followed by Rassie van der Dussen (15). Stoinis and Sunil Narine bagged three wickets each while Mohammad Nabi took two. Ben Lister and Harmeet Singh also picked up one wicket for the Jaguars
