On Tuesday, August 6, the Brampton Wolves and Bangla Tigers Mississauga locked horns in the 20th match of the Global T20 Canada (GT20) 2024. Later in the day, the Surrey Jaguars and Montreal Tigers locked horns in match #21.

Despite their last league-stage match being abandoned due to rain, Montreal Tigers finished at the top of the points table. They earned 10 points from four wins, one loss, and two no results in seven games.

Meanwhile, Brampton Wolves claimed four victories and two defeats. With nine points, they finished second on the table after their last match against Bangla Tigers Mississauga was abandoned without a toss.

Similarly, the Bangla Tigers finished third with nine points. However, they boast a negative NRR of -0.504 compared to the Wolves' +0.711. Toronto Nationals lost their last game against Montreal Tigers on Tuesday and finished fourth on the GT20 Canada 2024 points table with seven points.

Meanwhile, Surrey Jaguars managed to secure only one victory in seven games. They lost four games while the rest of the two matches ended without a result, including the most recent one against the Montreal Tigers. However, they were already eliminated from the playoff race before Tuesday's match.

Lastly, the Vancouver Knights also had a rough season at the Global T20 Canada 2024. They lost five out of seven matches and finished at the foot of the table with three points and a negative NRR of -0.705.

Brampton Wolves and Montreal Tigers will square off in the Qualifier 1 on Friday, August 9. The next day, Bangla Tigers Mississauga will face Toronto Nationals in the Eliminator. The winner of Eliminator and the loser of Qualifier 1 will meet on the same day at 9:30 pm IST (12:00 PM Local).


Weather Disrupts Global T20 Canada 2024 Doubleheader: First Match Abandoned, Second Cut Short by Rain

The 20th match between the Brampton Wolves and Bangla Tigers Mississauga was abandoned without a toss due to heavy rain. The subsequent final league stage game between the Surrey Jaguars and Montreal Tigers was reduced to five overs per side.

Kyle Mayers and Virandeep Singh opened for the Surrey Jaguars, but Mayers was dismissed for a duck on the third ball of Corbin Bosch's first over. Virandeep followed his opening partner, scoring four runs with a boundary before getting out to Kaleem Sana.

Brandon McMullen contributed four runs from three balls. Mohammad Nabi, batting at number four for the Jaguars, was retired hurt without scoring after facing three deliveries. The match was ultimately abandoned without a result after two overs due to further delays.
