On Sunday (August 4), Brampton Wolves defeated Surrey Jaguars in the 16th match of the Global T20 Canada 2024 by six wickets after chasing 125 runs in 15.1 overs. Vancouver Knights won the 17th match against Montreal Tigers by five wickets. They chased down the target of 110 runs in 18.4 overs.

Brampton Wolves jumped to the first position from third and have won four out of six games. They have a Net Run Rate of +0.771. Montreal Tigers moved to second position from first and have won three out of five games. They have a Net Run Rate of +0.901.

Toronto Nationals slipped to third place from second and have won three out of six games. They have a Net Run Rate of +0.203. Bangla Tigers Mississauga are still in fourth position and have won three out of five matches. They have a Net Run Rate of -0.656.

Surrey Jaguars are in fifth position and have won one out of five matches. They have a Net Run Rate of -0.300. Vancouver Knights remain in sixth place after winning their first match of the season. They have a Net Run Rate of -0.758.


Mohammad Amir's triple strike guides Vancouver Knights to victory against Montreal Tigers

Brampton Wolves won the toss against Surrey Jaguars in the 16th match and elected to bowl. Captain Marcus Stoinis emerged as the highest scorer for the Jaguars as he made 39 runs off 23 deliveries. The Jaguars were bundled out for 124 runs in 19.2 overs. Thomas Draca and Beau Webster picked three wickets each for the Wolves.

The Wolves lost their first four wickets for 52 runs. A partnership of 76 runs for the fifth wicket between George Munsey and Nick Hobson helped the Wolves cross the line. They won the match by six wickets in 15.1 overs.

Vancouver Knights elected to bowl against Montreal Tigers in the 17th game. Sherfane Rutherford and Azmatullah Omarzai were the only batters to cross the 20-run mark for the Tigers. The team had an ordinary outing with the bat and were all out for 109 runs in 19.2 overs. Mohammad Amir was the pick of the bowlers for the Knights as he took three wickets for 18 runs in four overs.

Usman Khawaja and Reeza Hendricks’s knocks of 30-plus runs helped the Knights reach the target of 110 runs in 18.4 overs with five wickets in hand. Khawaja scored 31 runs off 44 deliveries while Hendricks made 39 runs off 30 deliveries. Amir won the Player of the Match award for his bowling performance.
