The Global T20 Canada 2024 saw an exciting double-header on Sunday, August 4, at the CAA Centre in Brampton.

In the first match of the day and the 16th of the competition, Brampton Wolves bowlers skittled the entire Surrey Jaguars line-up for just 124 in 19.2 overs. Captain Marcus Stoinis scored 39 runs from just 23 balls to top-score for his side. For the Wolves, Italian speedster Thomas Draca claimed figures of 3/30 while Australian-based off-spinner Beau Webster also snatched three key wickets.

In response, Brampton Wolves cantered themselves to an easy six-wicket win despite slumping to 52/4 at one stage. George Munsey (46* off 35 balls) and Nick Hobson (31* off 20 balls) overcame early jitters, collectively composed by Logan van Beek (1/34), Ben Lister (1/23) and Sunil Narine (1/34).

Later in the evening at the same venue, Montreal Tigers folded up for just 109 by Vancouver Knights pace machines Mohammad Amir (3/18), Dwaine Pretorius (2/18), and Rishiv Joshi (1/22). Ace spinners Harsh Thaker and Sandeep Lamichhane also contributed to the Tigers' collapse by taking two wickets each.

Chasing 110, it took Vancouver Knights five wickets and 18.4 overs to maul down the target. Captain Usman Khawaja and number three Reeza Hendricks slapped valiant 30s during their 67-run partnership. Their batting diligence simplified the Knights’ path to victory for the rest of their middle order as they successfully countered raging Tigers bowlers Azmatullah Omarzai (2/23) and Gerhard Erasmus (2-13).
