Brampton Wolves and Toronto Nationals met in the Qualifier 2 of the Global T20 Canada 2024 on Saturday, August 10.
Brampton Wolves were asked to bat first. Opening batter Kobe Herft was dismissed for one, while his partner and captain David Warner made 13. Jack Jarvis scored 20 off 15, while George Munsey struck 26 off 24. With Nick Hobson’s 31-ball unbeaten half-century, Wolves made 141-8.
Romario Shepherd led the Toronto’s bowling attack with a four-fer, while Jatinderpal Matharu took two. In reply, skipper Colin Munro provided a solid start with a 20-ball 36-run knock. Unmukt Chand (19), Andries Gous (18) and Rassie van der Dussen (12) added key runs in the middle.
Later, Mohammad Nawaz scored 24 not out to guide Toronto to the final. They face defending champions Montreal Tigers as they eye their maiden title.
Global T20 Canada 2024 Most Runs List
George Munsey scored 26 runs and moved to the first spot in the Global T20 Canada runs leaderboard with 218 runs in six innings, averaging 43.60. Meanwhile, Dilpreet Bajwa slipped to second position, scoring 209 runs in six innings at an average of 68.66.
Meanwhile, Nick Hobson scored an unbeaten 51-run season-best knock in the last game and is third with 158 runs. Reeza Hendricks is fourth with 154 runs, while Beau Webster (139) and Marcus Stoinis (133) are fifth and sixth respectively.
Iftikhar Ahmed is seventh, scoring 124 runs, while Unmukt Chand and Colin Munro respectively hold the next two positions with 123 runs each. Rahmanullah Gurbaz rounds off the top-10 leaderboard, having scored 115 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 133.72.
Global T20 Canada 2024 Most Wickets List
Junaid Siddique of Toronto Nationals continues to hold the pole position with 13 wickets in the Global T20 Canada. Romario Shepherd jumped from tenth to second after taking four wickets in the last game.
Brampton Wolves Thomas Draca slipped from second to third with 11 wickets, while Azmatullah Omarzai and Sunil Narine dropped to fourth and fifth spots respectively with 10 wickets each.
Kaleem Sana, Aayan Afzal Khan, Mohammad Amir, David Wiese and Andrew Tye hold the next five positions with nine wickets apiece.
