Former Rajasthan Royals pacer Kamran Khan set to comeback in Pro Cricket League

Left-arm pacer Kamran Khan, who played in the IPL from 2009-2011, is set to come back to competitive cricket in the upcoming Pro Cricket League (PCL). The inaugural season of the tournament is set to be played at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida.

The PCL will likely feature a mixture of international stars, Indian players, and emerging talents debuting on the big stage.

Meanwhile, Kamran Khan will play for the Rajasthan Kings in the maiden PCL season.

Ganesh Sharma, Executive Director of Pro Cricket League, confirmed Kamran Khan's return and said as quoted by India.com:

"We are thrilled to welcome Kamran Khan to the Pro Cricket League. Kamran’s lineup is not just a personal comeback but a significant moment for the league. His presence will undoubtedly elevate the competition and excite fans."

Rajasthan Kings owner Gaurav Sachdeva was also delighted by Kamran Khan's addition to the roster and said:

"We believe that having him on board will greatly boost our team’s output and give us a fresh lease on life. We are excited to see him perform and we know that his return will make our supporters very happy."

The now-33-year-old last played competitive cricket in 2013 for Colts Cricket Club against Bloomfield in the Premier League Tournament.

Kamran Khan played nine IPL games for Rajasthan Royals ( 2009 and 2010) and the now-defunct Pune Warriors India (2011), picking up as many wickets at an average of 24.89 and an economy of 8.40.

Kamran Khan admitted feeling ecstatic to be back playing cricket for the Rajasthan Kings in the upcoming Pro Cricket League.

Apart from the IPL, the pacer also played two first-class matches, picking up five wickets at an average of 28.60.

"I am ecstatic to return and join the Rajasthan Kings”, after taking some time away, I’m refreshed and ready to bring my skill and passion back to the game. I look forward to reconnecting with my fans and making a significant impact on the field," said Kamran Khan.

Kamran Khan impressed the Rajasthan Royals director of cricket then - Darren Berry in a local T20 tournament, resulting in the franchise acquiring him for the 2009 IPL season.

His shining moment came when he bowled the first-ever IPL Super Over along with Ajantha Mendis in a clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders to help the Royals pull off a thrilling victory.
